RACGP KFP 2017.2 Case 13: Bob is a 76 year old man who presents to your remote rural practice with 2 days of progressing shortness of breath on mild exertion. His part history includes Hypertension, COPD, previous angina, DVT, BPH, Cirrhosis, Aortic Stenosis.  His medications include duodart, perindopril 10mg, and symbicort 200/6 bd.

RACGP KFP 2017.2.14 – Hypertension Management

Betty is a 45 year old woman with normally well treated hypertension on Perindopril 5mg daily who was noted to have BPs of 165/98 and 158/75 at the last two consults.  She has been putting on weight recently, not sleeping well and hence a bit more tired than usual.  She has put this down to being really busy with work and family.

RACGP KFP 2017.2.12 – Back Pain in an Elderly Gent

Bill is a 75 year old patient who presents with worsening upper back pain for the past month, causing him both day and night pain.  He feels generally “off”.  Examination reveals localised spinal tenderness over the T10-T12 vertebrae. His past history includes prostate cancer, with previous prostatecomy. Medications include Goserelin 10.8 mg q3/12.

RACGP KFP 2017.2.15 – A Toxic Child

In Case 15 of RACGP KFP 2017.2 you meet Billy, a 3 year old child who presented earlier today to your rural country practice with URTI symptoms, but is now brought in by Mum with refusal to feed, sitting still, drooling and fevers. You note that he is sitting still, not turning head throughout the consult, and looks toxic.

RACGP KFP 2017.2.16 – Fever in the Returned Traveller

Case 16 of the 2017.2 RACGP KFP: Sally is a 23 year old female who presents with cough, back pain and fever after returning from Bali 3 days prior. There are no bowel or urinary symptoms.  She has no past medical history of note. She had malaria prophylaxis of Doxycycline 100mg daily but did not have time to complete any travel vaccinations and has the standard Australian childhood vaccinations.
